A common question I run into with intermediate bloggers is whether or not to take a step into paid methods of growing the business.

Typically, starting out, the idea is to keep costs low until we can start to turn a profit.

So, organic methods are used, such as:

  • Posts
  • Videos
  • Podcasts
  • Interviews
  • Social Media
  • Guest Posting
  • Press Releases

While organic SEO can be slow and fluctuate based on factors such as competition, seasonality, trendiness, etc., the beauty is that it is free.

Paid Advertising, on the other hand, costs money and when you don’t advertise anymore, your results stop from this method. So the key here is to try to convert when you pay for traffic the improve in the long run.

Paid methods are the following type of options:

  • Cost Per Action/Acquisition (CPA)
  • Cost Per Impression (CPM)
  • Pay Per Click (PPC)
  • Paid Links
  • Banner Advertisements
  • Newsletter Ads

To start advertising using these paid methods, I would recommend taking a well respected online course that’s current, or joining a Mastermind that works on this type of marketing.
