Man, I was just checking out the various supported types for Google Search and there are a lot! This is great. Its like the long time coming form of the old electronic data interchange (EDI) and the wavering of the internet with HTML and or XML formats. (Showing my age now, I know!)

Now we just have these major definitions to comply with and they’re pretty straightforward.

If you’re looking to potentially rank better or for more devices, then and have any of the following data types, consider building it using their definitions of structured data:

  • Article *
  • Book
  • Breadcrumb
  • Carousel
  • Course
  • Critic Review
  • Dataset
  • Employer Aggregate Rating
  • Event
  • Fact Check
  • FAQ *
  • How-To *
  • Job Posting
  • Job Training (beta?)
  • Local Business Listing
  • Logo
  • Movie
  • Occupation
  • Product
  • Q&A
  • Recipe *
  • Review Snippet
  • Sitelinks Searchbox
  • Software App
  • Speakable
  • Subscription and Paywalled Content
  • Video

* Be sure to check out how some of these may automatically become enabled actions for Google Assistant!
